Dr. Steven Ford is an internationally acclaimed award-winning composer, music producer, conductor, orchestrator, arranger, musical director, and educator.

Dr. Ford has taught many symposiums and workshops on music ministry in the African- American Church, and The Music Industry. He is CEO of S. Ford Music, Inc., The Ford Music Group, S. Ford Music Publishers, and the co-owner of Sparkle Sound Studios.

As a native of Philadelphia, Steven Ford was appointed head musician at the age of 9 years old at his father’s church. Thereafter he began his musical career as a studio musician, performing on numerous recordings, television, and radio commercials.

Steven’s infatuation with recording and musical arranging soon became the driving force behind his maturity as a consummate musician, writer, arranger, and producer.

Steven is the Chair of the Music Department and the Executive Director of the Fine and Performing Arts Division at Eastern University.

Steven served as Musical Director and conductor for the Broadway and National Theater hit stage productions of: “Don’t Get God Started”, “God’s Trombones”, “I’m Coming Home”, “Bobo’s, an Urban Opera, “Soulful Messiah” and “We Are America” performed at the Kennedy Center. His orchestrations and scores can be heard in the films, “Born Out Of Time -The Life of Benjamin Franklin”, “Going For The Gold”, “DuPont 50th Year Anniversary”, and “The Philadelphia Diary Story”.

Dr. Ford’s academic education includes the following earned degrees; a Doctorate in Creative Arts and Graduate Certificate in Research from The University of Tasmania, Hobert, Australia; a Doctorate in Sacred Music from the Pentecostal Bible College of Tuskegee, AL; a Master of Music Composition and Orchestration from The Vermont College of Fine Arts, Montpelier, Vermont; and a Bachelor of Music Composition and Electronic Music from Eastern University, St. Davids, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Ford is the author of two books; “Is Your Music Department Ministry or Misery?” and “Can I Take Your Order?”. He is married to Deborah Williams-Ford; they have a son, Aaron and reside in Delaware. As an educator and administrator, Dr. Ford is chair of the Music Department and the Executive Director of the Arts Division (Music, Dance, Theatre, Graphic Arts and The Performing Arts) at Eastern University, St. Davids, Pennsylvania.
